Recently Ive been put on academic probation. Should I take a lighter load in the fall and spring semester to boost my GPA? Not sure If I want to do that since later, I know I'm going to end up taking a lot of classes.

Take a course load that you can manage successfully. Look at your current situation, figure out what problems landed you there, and correct them. Do you need to organize your time better? Work harder? Drop some activities (or partying) that are getting in the way? Take classes that are more in line with your abilities/interests?

Consider taking summer classes to bump up your GPA without adding to your burden during the regular academic year. Bear in mind that summer term grades at your school will help you. If you take classes elsewhere it’s likely that credits will transfer but grades will not. Check with your school to verify.

Make a list of classes you need to take to graduate, and then start making temporary schedules so you have an idea of when to take what. You can take one or two difficult classes if you can handle two, and the rest should be really easy classes to balance your schedule out.
