My son has been accepted to MSU Lyman Briggs. His ACT was just below the requirement for consideration to the HC but he seems qualified for consideration to the Academic Scholars Program. Has anyone who has been accepted already heard from the ASP? Or does anyone know anything more about how that possible notification might work? I sent an email to their office but have not heard back.
Thanks.

It’s been over 5 years since my son got a letter but that is how he was invited, by letter. I think it takes them a little while to decide who to pick because they have limited space.

have your heard anything back? im curious as well about ASP

No I haven’t heard back from MSU but probably the office is closed for holiday. I think my son has decided to send in the essay for HC consideration as described here:

I’m not necessarily thinking he will get into HC but perhaps it will give him a shot at Academic Scholars.

Just a follow up… ASP letters were mailed out last week. My son received his and has accepted. He did send in the HC appeal essay and first semester grades as well, that is to be a six week process before he hears back. We believe the two things passed in the mail during the same week as he received his letter a couple of days after mailing his appeal. We’ll see… for now he is happy with his Lyman Briggs and ASP, me too!

Received my ASP invitation over the weekend. I applied and was accepted way back in October, so…

Haven’t completed my HC essay (I’m not in the top 5% of my class), but I will sometime this spring. May 1st is the deadline and I don’t want to apply for the HC then go to another school since I’m waiting on 6 other institutions.

Hm. Has anyone else who was accepted around Thanksgiving gotten an ASP letter back?
