Academic Suspension...looking to transfer

Alright, so I've searched around here a lot about my situation, and decided to ask for myself. I'm currently on academic suspension from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, GA. I spent my Freshmen year, first semester 1.2 GPA, put on probation, second semester 1.1 GPA, suspended. Both semesters I had family troubles, since sorted out, and issues with my major/class choices. I attempted an appeal, despite low hopes of it actually being accepted, and well it didn't happen.

So now, I'm thinking about transferring to a community/technical college. My only concern is if whether they are acceptive to students on bad academic standing with their previous school. What is the probability? Southwest Georgia Technical College is my main interest.

i’m pretty sure community colleges accept anyone, i think it’s their obligation.
so, technically speaking, you have a 100% chance of getting in.

My local community college actually is known to accept students all around the state that have been suspended from their universities. Once they pick themselves up, they can usually submit an appeal to the Dean back at their university and go back, though I think they’re on probation for a semester or so.

Best thing to do is just call them up. :). [Southwest Georgia Technical College](http://www.southwestgatech.edu/)

Good luck to you.
