I have recently been placed on academic suspension by Brown University. I made a fool of myself the previous year and i fell short in my grades. I am completely devastated by my folly and I am trying to take every step in order to regain acceptance and continue my education there. I was informed that I need to gain 4 credits (courses) before I can appeal for re-admittance. However, I live in NYC and was looking at schools and their policies regarding Visiting students taking classes and it states that i need to be in good academic standing at my previous college in order to take the classes. Does this mean, I am in a deadlock to not return or are there ways that I can take to get around these policies. I really want to go back and I am willingly to do just about everything possible to prove to myself, family and Brown that I am fully capable of receiving a college education. Please can some one help me?

Community college will accept just about anyone. You must have had good grades to get into Brown in the first place–working hard to get back in again shouldn’t be impossible.

Go to a community college, they tend to not have entrance requirements.

Brown clearly stated they only accept credits from four-year degree-granting institutions… are there 4yr community colleges?

There are! :D

SUNY Farmingdale online courses? My son took classes this way one summer to get ahead in his gen eds.

How people like you got into Brown in the first place clearly shows the admission office’s decision making. Did you bribe them or what?

In any case, clean up your act.
