my gpa dropped under 2.0 and i was suspended i took a year off and i wanna transfer schools will i be able too?
Yes. But you might need to enter a community college first to prove you can handle college work now.
what if it was at a cc
thats where i started close to home but i feel as if need to get away from home
Yes, you may be able to get admitted into another community college that has open admission (and doesn’t require that you have a 2.0 to enter). You might not get financial aid, though, if you are not in good standing.
The only reason I mentioned a CC is they tend to provide the best atmosphere for students who need a but more education before jumping into a full blown 4 year university. They also tend to be the most accommodating to individual situations. I would just try to back to that school and give it another shot.
I don’t see how going away will make that much of a difference and most CC’s that I am aware of do not offer residential halls. But maybe in your part of the country they do.
Good for you to make another go at it. Good luck.
Why did your GPA drop below 2.0?
I ask, because perhaps it is something you could appeal.
Do you have an illness?
Has a mental illness started manifesting? (like depression or anxiety or ??)
Has someone died?
Were you working too much?
or did you just kind of party too much?
You have the ability to send a letter to request them to reconsider your suspension…but you have to understand what the problem was, why it happened, and what you could do differently in the future.

Your next choice is basically Community College. No other college will take a transfer with a <2.0 GPA because they want people who will graduate and you are not a good risk at this point. By taking classes at a CC (who will admit almost anyone) AND doing well, you can prove that you have figured out what went wrong and have the capability to do well.
Then you would try to transfer (or reapply).
I would talk to someone at your college to see what it would take to be re-admitted.
You can look at the admissions requirements for any two or four year college you are interested in by searching online for transfer admissions requirements. If the requirements include “must be in good standing” that means you will not get in after being suspended with a GPA less than 2.0 until you can raise your GPA.
