My visitation was awesome. The trip confirmed my decision to accept my appointment. There were some cadets that said "don't come here", but for the most part, everyone was supportive of the Academy because they realize the opportunities that are going to be made available to them.

Heavyweights...That movie is awesome.

A "prosby"? Sheesh...they make up so much goofy slang here. I've never even heard that. Did you make it up? :D

Just got back from my visit this morning (at like 2). It was amazing. It completely affirmed the fact that I am right in wanting to attend the Academy. The people I met were extremely nice, and just in general good people (though I do realize that there are most likely exceptions). If anyone here has a chance to go for a visit, I HIGHLY recommend it.

i'm gong Mar 10, anyone else?

March 10th huh? That should be fun, 6 days before Recognition...

I'm going april 10th for the appointee visitation, anyone else?

k, feeling stupid, what's recognition??

You'll find out when you get here, I'm sure. It's when freshmen get recognized as part of the cadet wing. It's something they got rid of a few years ago but now are bringing back.

I'm sure UNCynical can tell you a lot more about it since she's actually been through it.

My husband wants to take our son before the April Appointment orientations.
Can this be done in one full day? If so, can you still request a meeting with a particular department head?

I'm going for the April 10th orientation.

Going April 10th with son (Benjo6). We should wear something to indicate that we're CC posters -- lol !

Not a bad idea. I'm pretty eager to make new friends at the academy.

Same here...

I think they will probably give out name tags at some point. If so, CCers can write screen names in small letters at the bottom and look for each other....

There are a ton of people who'll be there, so good luck trying to find anyone you're not specifically looking for. There are ways for all/some of you to meet up, but discussion 2 months in advance wouldn't do much good.

You'll all meet a lot of people who you'll see throughout your time here, some of whom will probably become some of your best friends (although you won't know who those'll be until quite a bit later).

It'll probably be easier for anyone to spot me. Seeing how there will be less girls...sorry guys...

quick question, to register for the orientation, the website
http://admissions.usafa.af.mil/RRX/appointeeregistration.htm
doesnt seem to work can someone help me to register for the oreintation?

hey, I just tried the usafa website and I got the 'can't find server message', but if you go to google and type in 'usafa appointee orientation' your link is the first one and when I clicked on that it worked, so try that and if that doesn't work...try again later

alright it works, thanks a lot man

no problem. which dates did you choose?
