Hello! I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I just recieved a letter from the B.A./M.D. Program at Brooklyn College saying that they've chosen me for an interview. I also applied to Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at City College , and am still waiting for their reply. If you attend either of these programs, could you give me some advice? What do/did you think of these programs? Plus, what should I say at the interview??????God, I am nervous. : (

ANY combined program is good. If it guarantees you med school it is good. Period.

good job on getting an interview at B.A./M.D. Program at Brooklyn College .. I also applied to Sophie Davis... And ill bet you get a reply soon becuse i know 2 people who already got theirs.. I am still waiting for mine too....good luck on the interview

eh, i'm not a big fan of combined programs like that mainly because I dont think you are mature enough after HS to decide that you want to be a doctor.

I agree with Shraf that a weakness of these combined programs is that they try to make you commit to becoming a doctor right after high school

However, I would point out that that's better than figuring out later that you want to be a doctor, and then not getting in anywhere. Keep in mind that, according to AMCAS, about half of all people who apply to medical school get rejected by every single med-school they apply to.

I would also point out that, for most of these combined programs, you don't have to complete the entire program all the way through med-school. You can usually just simply opt to get just the bachelor's degree and get out if you decide that being a doctor is not for you.

anyone have general interview advice for these combined programs?
