yo can someone please post avg stats for rpi/amc
like sat

i believe you also have to maintain a high gpa in WashU's program, like 3.7 or 3.8... it's very rigorous, but well worth it if you can handle it since Wash U undergrad and med school are pretty darn good

Yeah, it's the 8-year program, but they like to say that they "reserve a position in their graduate school for you."

Stats:
1600
800 Chem, Math 2C, US History, Bio-M
790 Writing
35
4.0 UW, 4.93 W (5.0 scale)
2/471
3 years volunteering at hospital
graduate-level research at university + paper
5 Bio, Chem, Calc, US
4 Spanish L, Music
Magnet program: 10 science credits, 7 math credits, 9 "rigorous" classes a year, classes beyond AP curriculum like Organic Chem
Additional credits from independent study at university
Too much volunteering, too many extracurriculars, awards, leadership to remember (aka I'm lazy)

wow naur
ur amazing :|
i really hope my test score match up to urs
if they do i will be reallllllllllly happy :)
im studying hard for my SATs and ACT and hopefully aiming for 2200+ on SAT, all 800s on my SAT IIs (IIC, Bio M, Chem) and 32+ on ACT :)

If you want any tips:

Math - JUST BE CAREFUL, check and double check and check again
Verbal - study Kaplan's list of 1000 most frequent SAT words, not only does pretty much every word that appears on the SAT come on this list, it really helps your WRITING skills
Writing - use big words, know your grammar

APs - drill like crazy, especially for calc and chem, after them, SATIIs will seem like cake

Be scholastically aggressive and work your butt off in community service. I have about 450 hours in my research project and some 300 otherwise.

where else did you apply naur? with those kinda stats you have a good shot anywhere.

WashU, Emory, Vandy, Case, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Duke

So far I've been admitted to CWRU and Emory, and my semifinalist standing in Emory Scholars is pending. I've also been invited to WashU for University Scholars in Medicine and Vandy for ENGAGE for the same thing.

cwru ppsp?

Huh?? Translation please..

cwru ppsp = case western reserve university preprofessional scholars program

Case Western: 700 applicants, 60-70 finalists, 20 accepted
http://www.case.edu/alumni/involve/manual/general.html

Does Tufts have a 6-year or 7-year med program

not for high school seniors... but they do have early acceptance for sophomores already enrolled at tufts

no one has mentioned the dap program with the university of Cincinnati, they have 5 schools affiliated, Miami U, John Carroll, Xavier, U of Cincinnati, U Dayton. 8 yr program. I have an interview at John Carroll on March 19/

"not for high school seniors... but they do have early acceptance for sophomores already enrolled at tufts"

Actually this is incorrect. There is an early decision 7 year MD program (and dental too).

plme does not have 1000 applicants and does not admit 10%.

plme has between 1400-1600 depending on the year (apps have been down for the past few years) and admits 90-100 applicants to fill 60 spots.

Snuffles thanks for the post. Do you know exactly how many people they accept each year? Thanks again.

No clue. Sorry. You'll have to call the admissions office.

For anyone in the NYC area who's interested in combined degree med progs, you might want to consider Brooklyn College's Honors Academy BA-MD Program. It's an 8-year prog associated with SUNY Downstate Medical School, with the first 4 years UG study free of tuition. It might be the better option for those who want to focus more on the humanities/social sciences/liberal arts as opposed to strict hardcore natural sciences (i.e. Sophie Davis, who only allow majoring in biomedical education). Well yeah, I might be a bit biased because I just got accepted and will most likely attend the program, but just trying to spread the news for future pre-meddies!
