Accelerated Pre-Calc summer courses?

I'm looking for an accelerated Pre-Calculus course for my D to take over the summer. I've checked Petersons.com...but many of the summer programs listed (including Phillips Exeter summer program) state they do not necessarily cover the entire curriculum. Others only take Junior or Senior high school students (my D will have just completed 9th grade).

I know she can probably do a Johns Hopkins CTY distance learning program (she has before) in this topic - but she really prefers to learn with other students around for the interaction.

We're located in NE, and a residential program is fine too. Any suggestions welcome and thanks.

I think this might be what you are looking for:

the kids do work at their own pace individually, but in a classroom with other kids and a teacher -- with lots of interaction. Plus the social scene after class -- seems like a good combination for your D

This is through CTD at Northwestern -- my went last year (he is younger and did the younger kids program). It is well run, has a good reputation and he loved it. They do offer financial aid if you need it.

here is the link to get you started.

I'm going to that program this summer.

My uncle is a counselor at some elite prep school and he said it was one of the best summer programs around for the price. Plus, most schools give credit for it.

that program sounds really cool, but is the precalc course only for 10-12?

if you read through the website it will give you some more details. The class is for kids entering 10-12 next year but if you meet the prerequisites, you can enroll if you are entering 8th or 9th grade next year.

Thanks for the pointer!
