I am going to take precalculus over the next 6 weeks in an attempt to take calculus next year. Do you guys have any recommendations for online courses that aren’t super expensive? I’ve been using khan academy but any other suggestions would be helpful.
I would start by discouraging you from taking a course and encourage you to do something more meaningful, but if you’re adamant, I’ve used Educator.com pretty extensively.
I am actually currently taking Honors Precalc through Johns Hopkins CTYOnline. I think it was like $700 or something, so idk if that’s what you’re looking to spend, but the course isn’t that hard and I’m almost done (started June 10th but took a week off for vacation) so it doesn’t take all that long.
Educere.net is good since they have a lot of providers, but registration ended on the 7th.
Is your school aware of your plans? You might need to take a placement test after you finish the class to be put into Calc.
I don’t know if it matters at this point, but I don’t think you should take PreCalc over the summer unless you’re really good at math. It’s a tough class but also very important since other classes build off of it. It’s not one of the math classes you should take lightly.
