Hmmmm....you are asking about Harvard. I see someone copied and pasted a thread without changing information....tsk tsk...

haha. oops. i mean, Princeton.

your scores are definitely low for Princeton, but I think affirmative action should cancel that out, so that leaves us with your rank... if your hig hschool is really really competitive, I guess they might forgive it, but third decile is quite low. Also your ECs are fairly average as well... do you have any leadership positions?

A agree with you about your essays... emphasize your research and volunteering, because those are your strongest areas. I'm sorry that I'm not explicitly stating what I think your chances are because I have no idea. I can only tell you what I believe to your strong and weak points. With that said, best of luck! I'm sure you'll be happy wherever you go...

I agree with jmarsh. If your SAT scores come out better and you can emphasize some leadership as well as research and volunteering in a really good essay than you should have a chance. Your class rank is pretty low but if you attend an extremely competitive school (and Princeton knows how competitive it is) you should have a shot. Unfortunately, it is never a sure thing and the most anyone can provide is speculation.

Good luck with your applications (to Harvard AND Princeton :p)
