Acceptance Chances??

hey can someone please give me some idea
i did early decision for the college of human ecology

i go to school in the sf bay area
GPA: weighted 4.3 unweighted 3.88
class rank: either 1, 2 or 3 in a class of 78

SAT:
math:660
cr:690
writing: 790
us history sat II: 680
literature sat II: 660
math sat II:670

4 AP classes
6 honors classes
national honor society
Senior Class President
about 200 volunteer hours
basketball team freshman year
and member of varsity basketball team senior year

i'd say ok chances maybe a little on the lower side for rd. i'm the same way where my out of 2400 score looks a lot better than my 1600 score. supposedly cornell doesn't look at writing. also, ed or rd? any hooks/anything you've dedicated yourself to other than the volunteering? is the volunteering related to humec in any way?

i did Early Decision and the volunteer work i do is at a hospital and i am first generation here and i am also the first in my family to go to a 4 year college

now see all of that information is important and increases your chances of getting in significantly

haha here's my stats. they're SO BAD.

early decision choices:
primary decision: Econ for Arts and Sciences
secondary decision: Applied Econ and Management for CALS

i go to school in new jersey (east brunswick)
GPA: weighted 4.0 my school doesn't do unweighted
class rank: no idea, my school doesnt do that either. but my grade has around 1000 people. i'm probably in the top 50? top 75?

SAT:
math: 750
cr: 630 == yea that totally killed my chances
writing: 690
us history sat II: 650
biology sat II: 700
math II sat II: 750
(i took some others, but i did really bad haha)

8 AP classes
10 honors classes
yearbook editor
Model UN
Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society
about 140 Volunteer Hours at a hospital (but i sent cornell a separate letter with my hours since i forgot to give them to the school. i hope they got it)

um.. yea. i'm so screwed.

oh and when i said top 50 or top 75, i meant top 50 or 75 people. not percentage hahaa

your cr score is low for arts and sciences, but your gpa is great (assuming it's out of 4.0). colleges do look at your gpa, especially because it says how you've done throughout 3 years in high school rather than just any single day. your chances aren't fabulous, but they're not horrible either.

p.s. i'm in mu alpha theta, too!!

uhm no the gpa isn't out of 4.0, it's weighted. haha unweighted i have no idea what it is, but probably not too great since i've gotten a lot of Bs in my AP classes. and i know my cr is really low. i just can't get it higher.. and i took the SATs 3 times.

oh, and i'm asian american. i think affirmative action might not be in my favor.

rollercoaster838 - where in cornell did you apply?
