acceptance notifications

How does UF notify students of their acceptance? Is it done in the application status? What time are notifications done on the 11th (is it 12:00am)? Any other important information we need to know?

Thanks!

I found out my acceptance online last year, and I just checked it after school.

So for instance this year, acceptances are supposed to come out on February 11th. Are you saying that we can login to the application status anytime on the 11th and see the decision?

The email that was sent out about a month ago said they will update the status at 6 p.m. on the 11th.

@Jena, Yup, presuming you applied before the regular deadline. I hope you get in!

Thanks Dnation, but it’s my son. We’re nervous about this one!

Is this notification just for college freshman or does this apply to transfers as well?

Just over three weeks before we hear…anyone else completely freaking out? =/

Notification is always at 6pm on a Friday night. There is never anyone available to take calls until Monday. And even then you may not get to speak with someone. You log in to find out. But there is a huge surge of people who start checking just before 6, and sometimes it takes HOURS to get in and find out.

Be forewarned, if you are applying as a FTIC freshman, but you have more than 30 hours of DE credit, YOU MIGHT NOT GET A DECISION at that time Every year, there are students with dual enrollment credits who do not quite make the cut, but who will then be evaluated as a transfer instead of a first time in college freshmen. It is like a backdoor acceptance, but those acceptances may go out AFTER Feb 11th. They are waiting to compare you to actual transfers.

You can look over the threads on UF from acceptance day for Feb 2010 and Feb 2009. Some find out right away, some cannot get on for hours, and some wait and wait and find they do not have a decision, and wait until Mon or Tues to find out what is up.

GOOD LUCK
