I recently got accepted (Monday), but only got a notice on my portal. I have yet to receive an official letter.

In the acceptance letter, does it say if one is accepted into the Honors College, and if they are receiving money?

I’m not sure about the Honors College because I only had a 3.7 GPA so I probably wasn’t eligible. However, they told me in my acceptance letter that I was going to receive scholarship money. I would assume they would tell you if you’re accepted into the Honors College as well in the letter.

That’s weird. It says on the Honors College site that the minimum GPA required was a 3.5. Unless you didn’t take many honors courses in high school.

I believe the physical letter should state your decision, any scholarship money you will be receiving (merit-based) and whether you got into the honors program or not.

I didn’t see any formal requirements online for the honors program but they probably use a variety of factors to determine admission, including GPA, course load and SAT scores. The average SAT score for honors is 1337 on two sections – and that’s including those who get in after freshman year, so honors is quite competitive, especially freshman year. It’s possible you may be admitted later on though. You can also always apply for admission into the honors program later.

My D was accepted w a scholarship and then, a while later (2 weeks or so?) got a notification that she was accepted into the honors college (which triggered another scholarship benefit, a summer research stipend of $4,000).

So no, I do not think you get the notices all at once. If you have the stats for their honors college, you’ll probably get in.

Just want to clarify that I did mention that you may get in later on. Personally, I received it with my acceptance and later on as well; however, IUmom7’s experience is probably more representative of what normally happens as my scholarship granted me automatic admission into their honors program. Also, I was confused by these requirements everyone was talking about so I tried to research them online. Here’s where I found the target range for the Fox Honors Program (and possibly just generally the regular honors program): [Business Honors Program | Admissions](http://www.fox.temple.edu/honors/admissions.html). Hope that helps.
