I'm wondering if anyone knows the acceptance rate specifically to the film program at various schools (not their published overall whole college rate).

I'm most interested in the ones my son is applying to:
USC (I know even the different majors within their SCA have different rates)
Emerson
Columbia College Chicago

Just wondering what odds he's up against.

Thanks!!

I know USC admits only 26 students in its Writing for Television program.
Emerson isn’t very strict. It has around 40%-60% acceptance rate.
Columbia College Chicago is a for-profit college I think, which means it has a 100% acceptance rate.

I’m applying to the same colleges, to be honest.

Thanks for the reply, TommasoP. I did not know that Columbia College Chicago had such a lax admission policy. I assume they are more selective when they “admit” students to their most lucrative scholarships.

I knew that Emerson’s overall acceptance rate is around 50%, but I think their film program is much more selective, just because they get so many applicants to that major. So I was wondering what that rate was.

Good luck to you, by the way! I know how stressful it is to not know where you’ll be in a year!
