Acceptance rate?

What is UVa's acceptance rate to medical school?

Four percent

It's probably fairly good, but I haven't seen data of this sort published anywhere. If I were you, I wouldn't pay any attention to the acceptance rates to medical school that a lot of schools advertise. There are so many ways of manipulating those numbers - such as not sponsoring students who don't have competitive numbers - that they often can't be trusted. I've heard inflated stats from small liberal arts colleges that are nowhere near UVA in selectivity, and they're quit obviously bogus. UVA as an institution is likely no stronger or weaker than any of its peers in getting people into medical school. It's more about the applicant than the school. I frequently see threads on CC asking about which schools have the best "premed" programs, and it's ridiculous. Any school where you can go and get good grades, good test scores, and good extracurriculars will get you into medical school. Of course, going to a top school is probably beneficial, as you'd be around more high achievers.

yeah that 4% number is how many students go to medical school - not the acceptance rate.

Or maybe it's the acceptance rate of UVA's medical school? I wouldn't even know.

It is 66%. The average is about 50%. I think W&M's is pretty high as well.
