Acceptance Rate

Does anyone know what the acceptance rate was this year? I'd like to know how lucky I actually was. I know it has been around 52% in previous years.

It was 54.5% last year, but I did find this article: 93106: Applications Soar for Fall 2008

UCSB usually releases acceptance percentage figures in late April.

According to this new article in the Daily Nexus, UCSB offered admission to 23,100 students out of a total pool of 47,025, making the admission rate 49.1% this year.

rc251 you are correct

the admissions officer at a admitted students tour said the admissions were at 49%
thats crazy!! all of the uc's rates were really low this year

Sorry, I forgot a link to the article in my original post:

Applicant Numbers Increase, Break UCSB Record - Daily Nexus

wow, so it went down from 54% to 49%. For some reason I feel so happy XD. I submitted my SIR to UCSB on March 27 after finding out I got rejected from Berkeley (i didn't even wait for my UCI decision which came out the next morning ... i got rejected though LOL).
