Have schools released their 2008 acceptance rates anywhere yet? At bs review the stats havent changed yet...

BS Review can be a great resource, but some information is very outdated. Some schools have information on this year's acceptance rates in a press release or statement on their own web site about the newly admitted class.

Andover was so selective this year that it turned down more than 100% of its applicants. Top that!

Once again Exeter comes out on top: Exeter rejected all its applicants and all of Andover's applicants too.

Well, SPS rejected all the Exeter applicants, all the Andover applicants, AND all of the people who didn't bother to apply, making their rejection rate 254.3987643%.

WOW. That SPS has some rarified air up there! I guess I can't consider SPS (or E or A) a safety anymore.

Sorry to end the joke, but SPS has a 19 percent acceptance rate this year

i think exeter was 16%
(very funny, though. :) )

Here is a thread that has some acceptance rate info http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/prep-school-admissions/487244-2008-admissions-stats.html
The information on boardingschoolreview is often outdated. Sometimes when updates are made, only some numbers are updated and old numbers are left. Too bad, because it would be a great resource if it were reliable.

Not to nitpick, but Exeter was actually 18%.

"Of the 2,678 who have applied for admission, 18 percent have been accepted to become part of Exeters community."

In essence, many schools have acceptance rates of 25% or less, and there is a bit of luck as to why one person gets in rather than another.

Andover's was 19%.
