I for one am very happy to hear from Andi!

Thanks andi! It was an unexpected pleasant surprise, we're very proud of him. But... no money from NEU. So now he finds himself PRECISELY in the dilemma of "top scholarship vs. more top school", to quote another thread on this forum. And there's still one more school to hear from! April will be a more interesting month in our house than we'd expected, that's for sure.

Mootmom:Yeah, but as I told S, not a bad problem to have . Many others would love to be in that situation. Congrats and good luck.

I'm still in shock.......D just got accepted at Bryn Mawr (her first choice!!!) I don't think it's actually set in yet.

One of the biggest pluses - relatively cheap airfare from here to Philly!

Ohh Erin's Mom,

Congrats to your daughter. I am sure that there is a lot of happy dancing going on in your house right now. Come on over to SA so we can toast the 2 of you!!

And the shuttles will pick up the kids at the airport! It's a pretty short drive, too!

Congrats to your D, EM. Bryn Mawr is such a wonderful place; beautiful in any season. Too bad it's single sex and practically just down the street from us, otherwise I would have suggested it for my D. It's a wonderful choice for any girl.

I tried so hard to get my d to look at Bryn Mawr, but she refused - the single sex thing. Congrats to your d, Erin's Mom, and to you too! Celebrate and enjoy!

Chedva , me too. ;) And my D's aunt lives there. And some cousins.

Congrats everybody. Y'all should all know pretty quickly.

Just got the word that acceptance #9 received today--to Gettysburg, my alama mater! With a nice FA package, too! When the final FA package comes in, we're going to have to sit down to a serious family discussion!

DD has received 4/5 responses to her applications, and they are all acceptances! She is in at UGA Honors, Elon Honors, Furman and UNC-Chapel Hill. I don't envy her making the decision. She is smart, driven kid who will likely do well anywhere, but I desperately want her to choose the "right" place. Now, if we only knew which one that is.... She is a legacy at Chapel Hill, but is independent enough not to let that sway her. She is very pleased with her pile of "Congratulations" letters. Now the real work starts. As soon as I can stop doing my happy dance.

Great news, Erin's Mom and SpringfieldMom and msreadalot: what rejoincing must be going on in your households now! And you're right, ms: now the real work starts. (Not that the application season was a piece of cake, but this is where the rubber meets the road.) It's going to be an "interesting" April.... Congrats to all!

daughter got into Trinity in SanANtonio and Chapman in CA. Chapman gave her a great 25000/- package so right now she is leaning toward that , still waiting to hear from quite a few though.

Congrats to all! Isn't this more fun than waiting around???!!!!

Son got accepted to Macalester yesterday!! (happy dance)!! I expect he'll hear from his other 2 Midwest schools this week, leaving 4 more to wait for. Congratulations to everyone--I expect to be hanging around here on decisions threads until May 1.

Great news, Bethievt! Congratulations!

Yes congrats to all on this momentous weekend! Don't you love how they send acceptances so that they arrive on fridays and saturdays? DD's chest is a bit larger (what of it there is, anyway) since she had no rejections, waitlists or deferrals. I commend all of you since I owe it all to CC and what we've learned in this forum! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Now we have quite a decision to make. With the generous FA package received yesterday, my alma mater actually made it possible to send her there for a bit less than our flagship state u net cost. There are many advantages; smaller classes obviously, but she will also be able to continue her love of performing while at PSU that would be doubtful since she would be competing for parts with hundreds of others. Of course PSU has many, many advantages that a little LAC could never have. She has a big decision to make.

BTW for those in the fountain of youth, CATS went beautifully last night. Only 4 more performances to go! :(

Congratulations!

I was accepted to Bryn Mawr yesterday. :) I'm still waiting for news from nine more colleges, but I'm so relieved that the first decision I received was an acceptance, considering how worried I was earlier.

You, dear, deserve this and I suspect you will have other nice choices. This wait is tough.

Thank you :)... and yes, yes it is.

Congratulations to everyone else, too!
