<p>My daughter received a phone call today telling her that she had been accepted to the University of Oklahoma BFA MT program. She is excited because some of her school friends are already in the program. Fingers crossed for those still waiting!</p>

<p>Yes, OU vs OCU. The OU campus is actually very pretty with lots of gardens. On our tour, one of the students told us that the president's wife is very interested in horticulture, so plans many of the areas. She didn't apply to OCU and I haven't seen their campus. There are some very pretty areas to visit that aren't too far away.</p>
<p>I couldn't audition for the bfa or interview for the ba at Ithaca because they ran out of spaces so I applied undecided just to have an option and I got accepepted to the school of humanities and science (with a scholarship)!! it feels good to at least know you're going somewhere</p>
<p>I got accepted to webster and baldwin wallace academically with money and just heard from Mcdaniel in Maryland that I got accepted with money. They have a very well known summer theatre company on their campus that does two musicals every summer, much like Muhlenberg.</p>
<p>Congratulations, defyinggravity04! I live not too far from McDaniel and it has a good reputation, not just for theater, but also as a good liberal arts college. That's great. Congrats, too, on Webster and Baldwin-Wallace. Did you also audition for their MT programs?</p>
<p>hey guys ive been reading this forum for almost a year now, but today is my first day posting... for good reason!</p>
<p>I was one of the many students inexplicably cut from the University of Arizona program last year (more on my story here, <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=313609)%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=313609)</a>... but I am happy to say that today, after a year of not knowing what was going to happen to me, I got a letter of acceptance from The Theatre School at DePaul... and also a call from Barbara MacKenzie at Carnegie Mellon, an acceptance to the BFA Acting Program! Things really do happen for a reason! Don't lose hope!!! Im a male actor, entering the class next year as a freshman...</p>
<p>Defying....good for you with McDaniel which gives you a BA option in MT! Nice on the academic acceptances to Baldwin Wallace and Webster. Would you consider them without the BFA/BM? McDaniel is nice if you are just offered a BA at the other two because the BA in MT majors at McDaniel ARE the only musical theater majors, not competing with the BFA students. </p>
<p>The greatargos...WAY TO GO!! wow.....CMU and DePaul, super! It must have been such a stressful process you went through. Life can hand you some really bad times and I'm so glad it has turned around in a BIG way. I hope you realize you have the last laugh with U of Arizona. Their loss, obviously.</p>

<p>I'm a little surprised you applied to DePaul (great acting school, for sure) given they have a cut system, after all you have been through. Glad you are going to CMU and I wish you all the best. Clearly U of Arizona cut talented people. I'm glad you picked yourself up and pushed on. I am sorry for the loss of money you incurred and just hope that you can view the past two years as a learning experience nonetheless.</p>

I did not end up auditioning for MT for webster and BW and would just do the BA, but I had not thought of the fact that I would be competing with their BM and BFA MT majors which might not be so good. I did not know that McDaniel was a BA MT, I thought it was just theatre arts. I will def. have to check that out! I am going up for Accepted Student day this saturday so I will ask. I am still waiting on 4 schools, so we shall see.</p>
<p>DG....If you are looking to do a BA program (which it appears), you might be better off to do it where the BA students are "king". Webster and BW are great schools for a BFA but you should look into their offerings for a BA who wants to do MT and the opportunities, given that there will be BFA/BM students in the school. Something to explore...</p>
<p>McDaniel may not be called a BA in Musical Theater. However, they offer a dual major with Theater and Music (may be referred to as Musical theater). Explore to see if it has what you are looking for. Good luck and glad you have something so far!</p>

Thegreatagros - Man, could it be any sweeter for you? That is just the greatest news. Such an inspiring story for all these youngin's who may not get into their choice schools this time around....</p>
<p>Let us know what you think of McDaniel. My S is also admitted there and trying to schedule a visit for the April 1st admitted students. But, he's so far away and the school doesn't have much available to help us coordinate the trip (no transportation from the airport and no dorm overnight). I'm still working on it, but it's a struggle right now because we can't get away to travel with him, so he'd be going solo.</p>
