<p>Sorry to those who PM'ed or emailed me asking to add the deferral status; please do know that I personally agree that being officially "deferred" from a school that sends out tons of rejections is a huge accomplishment :) and is definitely not the same as those who simply have not heard yet, others however don't feel this way.</p>

<p>letsfigureitout - not really, historically I think they have always been "combined". There are a lot of "MT kids", who are also applying to straight acting programs, or who are offered Acting acceptances. I was just curious about USC, because they have somewhat of a unique program in that they offer for example a BFA in Acting, but you can apply at the same time for the MT minor (the audition is slightly different); somewhat similar to Marymount Manhattan (albeit that is a BA).</p>

<p>Letsfigureitout, I don't think MTGrlsmom didn't want to list the acting acceptances because as you can see, this acceptance list includes acting and MT, as well as BAs and BFAs. I think she was just curious if this particular member was doing the MT Minor. MY GUESS is that this member's D did not do the MT Minor because she, for example, applied and got into the BFA for ACTING at UMichigan. Seems she is pursuing acting. </p>

<p>MTgrlsmom - USC's BFA program is strictly an acting conservatory with strong academic requiremnts. Because of the rigorousness of the program you cannot do any type of minor. The BA path allows you to minor in any field, and you may audition to minor in MT. However, I understood the audition is only after you are accepted into the BA program. You do not need to audition for the BA program as it is academically based - but most BFA hopefuls (who have solid grades) put the BA down as their second choice (my d did). The School of Theatre does submit their suggestions (based on audition and interview) to the Admissions Department on candidates they feel would be perfect for the BA. 20 are admitted to the BFA, 65 to 75 admitted to the BA.</p>
