<p>Hi--
I have never posted before and this makes me really nervous. I have noticed an acceptance at Marymount for Dramama's D. My daughter auditioned there Nov. 17th and we were told that letters would come in March for that audition cycle. We still haven't heard anything. I'm wondering when Dramama's D heard and was it by mail? Perhaps she didn't get in. Thank you.</p>

<p>lauriemom- no reason to worry, I also remember clearly that letters will indeed come out in March for the Nov. 17th audition (ahead of the other audition dates). I was there, tagging along with my D that day :).</p>

<p>At times a school may offer a separate acceptance to for example a transfer student, or at regional auditions which could have been be the case for Dramama's D. </p>

<p>Also, Marymount Manhattan is a bit unique as D experienced in that their admissions office at times gets ahead of their paper trail and gives you information on a particular application by phone. This happened to my D when she retracted hers. I will add right away that when one of her friends called to see if she could get a status update, she was simply told letters would be mailed in March, and so may be our experience was just a fluke and a result of speaking to a student helper.</p>

<p>In any event, this acceptance thread is fantastic, but remember it is only "the tip of the iceberg". The vast majority of acceptances is yet to come!</p>

Thank you for your comments and congratulations to your D on her acceptances. We had an experience with a friend of my D's who auditioned early decision at NYU, the acceptances came out ahead of the other responses (as these kids so quickly can find out these days). So D's friend figured he did not get in when his letter didn't come out near the others', and he was correct. We have had a very positive audition experience and she has heard yes from one BFA Acting program on her top list. Everyone on CC is incredibly kind and willing to help. This forum really shows me that there are good people out there.</p>

<p>Lauriemom, MTgrlsmom is right about telling you not to worry. My D was accepted at a regional consortium, where schools sometimes offer placement in the program on the spot. They did follow up with an email or letter afterward. I am guessing if D had kept her original "regular" audition appointment with Marymount, she would also be waiting to hear. Hang in there!</p>
