Acceptances!

One thing I want to say about Ithaca now that my D has been there almost a full year - is that it is an amazingly supportive environment. The program is HARD! Very full days and very time consuming work and demanding.

Sorry that post above posted before I was done. What I wanted to note was the amazing “feel” of the student body. Your kids would be with this group of BFA’s for most of every waking moment. As many kids will attest, there are different school “feels”. Some are very toxic and full of competition. Ithaca is not that at all. Everyone is like “family” and they use that word a lot to describe their approach. The BFA programs everywhere are typically difficult and it is so helpful that the folks around you care and support each other.

On travel…We also live in the west and there are flights from Elmira, Binghampton and Syracuse.
My son flew out of Elmira for spring break and it was pretty easy.
The taxi was only about a 30 min ride and $75. That flight was $220 the flight that same day to Denver from Ithaca was $775 one way!!!
We are going to see him in a show next month and are also going to try flying to Elmira. $300 round trip.
I think the only direct flights from Ithaca are to Newark, Detroit, Chicago and Philadelphia.
Flying from Ithaca is the easiest but you have to plan way ahead to get a decent rate.
All the travel headaches are worth it! My son loves Ithaca.

Is your son in The Crucible? We’re going to see it over our spring break!

Oops, spoke too soon – something’s come up over spring break so I think we’re visiting in 2 weeks and seeing Gone Missing instead.

still floating in the Ithaca abyss…anyone else? 8-|

Floating and starting to drown if they don’t update soon!!!

I know of a student who was accepted for Acting the other day so there is movement out of the myIthaca limbo!

we’re still in Ithaca limbo also…

Hold on you are still alive then!!!

Has anyone heard about any recent Ithaca rejections?

Ithaca Limbo too swimming, swimming…arms getting tired, arms getting tired…Feels like no light in sight very dark here in Ithaca limbo :expressionless:

hang on @dreamatinydream you will hear soon!!!

Us too… Still in the limbo land with Ithaca!

Us too…

Wondering did anyone get any financial packages from Ithaca yet? Our audition date was Feb 22nd and we had filled out the FAFSA and CSS Profile just wondering how long it takes

Does anyone know just how many students are being offered/accepted into the MT program?

For those of you still in Ithaca limbo-land - like my D - a friend in a similar boat called Ithaca and was told that they are missing her mid-year grades, and that this is what is holding up her decision. I’ve got an email out to my D’s counselor - but I thought other’s might like that heads up to check on if mid-year grades were forwarded to Ithaca.

We’ve had no requests from Ithaca to provide mid-year grades. Anybody else???

As far as I know, most schools don’t make a specific request (like an email, etc.) that applicants do so but it’s usually stated somewhere on the website or application that mid-year grades are to be provided when available. My S’ guidance counselor just automatically sent them to the schools on his list.
