wow, congrats!!

Son was accepted!

So sorry for those rejected. Been there myself (35 years ago) and so has S.

I am convinced that waitlist isn't a bad place to be this year. So.. if it's your no. 1, make sure you let them know it!

I thought as a nescac school, Hamilton did not offer scholarship but only need based aid. Why did I think that?

Accepted. Woohoo!!

Hamilton doesn't have scholarship aid. Need-based only.

Actually, Hamilton does offer a few merit based scholarships, but these are only funded from alumni trusts which target specific qualities in students (the Siuda Travel Scholarship is awarded to students who live more than 1000 miles away, e.g.).

However, Hamilton awards more aid to stronger students; if they really want you on the Hill, the first way they tell you is through your financial aid package.

This makes sense and is the beauty of private schools. state schools are held to federal limits tied to FAFSA. Private schools can do whatever they want which is why I think some kids miss out because they think they automatically can't afford it. So not true as sometimes you'll do better at a private.

ya my bad I meant my fin-aid package

Doesn't matter SCJUDD.. they obviously want you to attend a great deal. Congratulations!!! Good job!

hey thanks a lot...it was a realy stressful two days, rejected by Bates , U of C, Williams and wesleyan. I was preparing myself 4 a HUGE breakdown if I didnt get in, but now Im way excited.

I got in!

SAT: 1390/2140
SAT II: Bio M - 750, Math I - 750
GPA: 3.7
ECs: orchestra all four years, all theater productions, band two years, some others.

Good luck to everyone, regardless of decision!

SCJudd.. Dont know your religious affiliation or if you even have one, but in my world we say God doesn't ever give you more than you can handle. I can only imagine the stress level.. that's a harsh two days. But all in preparation for a great appreciation in getting into a great school

No break downs, thank God. :)

OK OK a bit melodramatic. If your worst stress is wondering which nice college will accept you and give you money, or you may actually have to go to a 'state school', then God does not think you can handle very much.

I don't think that accepted students should necessarily judge your worth to Hamilton by your financial aid packages.. Especially if you don't get a great one, in your opinion. I doubt that it's that Hamilton doesn't want you, because if they didn't they wouldn't have accepted you.
Congrats to everyone who was accepted, and good luck to everyone else!

Hey thanks a lot Modadunn.
but sorghum come on man chill out.

Got in, but not with the aid I would have liked...a semester at Hamilton would cost just a little less than a whole year at a state school. Yuck.

Ditto for my D.

Accepted! YES!
