<p>hmmm.. did SCJUDD ever say had he not gotten in he would have "had to go" to a state school? (as if that's a bad thing in the least - I know people who are dying to go to Mich, UNC, etc). Nope, he didn't say that. He said he had been rejected by 4 schools in two days. Doesn't sound like there were any yesses in the pile (yet). As someone who has merely watched the pressure cooker of admissions from the sidelines, to an 18 year old this is pretty stressful. </p>
<p>I am not a religious person in the least. I would say, however, that I am fairly spiritual and don't believe for a moment that the cosmos only deals in "big" things. Call it melodramatic if you will, but the world is a mysterious place and some of life's twists and turns aren't all merely superficial road stops. Just my opinion. But I would agree there are far worse things in people's lives and so.. it's all relative to your own experience. Sometimes, however, it's the nuggets (and not the boulders) that are worth holding on to.</p>
