SHORT STORY: I got accepted REA!

LONG STORY:
I was supposed to receive it a while ago like everybody else did in December. I called/emailed them twice about about how I did not receive an email regarding my acceptance or rejection. I kept asking her if she could tell me whether or not I got accepted. She said, she couldn't. I gave her all the info and she said we will figure out the problem and will try to get an email out. She said, if you don't receive it within a few days, call back. She also said in the mean time, check your spam folder. (I would have saw it in there if it got sent) Days later, I called again and somebody else picked up the phone other than the lady I first spoke with. He said that he will try to resolve the problem soon and pretty much gave the same info the lady told me. Then, I called a few days later. However, I learned that the offices were closed until January. During the winter break, I waited nervously to see if I had receive anything in my email. Finally, I called the first day it opened. After speaking with another person for about 10 minutes, she said we got your situation figured out or something like that and fixed it. After an hour, I received an email from Stanford. I expected a rejection letter after the problem that I had to go through. I opened it and got accepted.

Thanks CollegeConfidential. Since my sophomore year, I have been reading all about Stanford and how to get accepted. I finally made an account today, I am so happy.

Thanks!

Your perserverance paid off! Congrats on your acceptance. You will love it!

Thanks, I am so happy!!! I figured with my average sat scores and grades, i thought it was a stretch to join. But I am soo happy about my acceptance!

Would you mind sharing your stats? I’m facinated by who does and who doesn’t get admitted. Thanks.

Yea, I am posting it now. I will post a link a few minutes.

HOLY CRAP you got accepted with a 3.4?! You sir are my hero, CONGRATS!!! I applied for the hell of it with a GPA like yours and a higher SAT, and it’s good to know that it’s possible to get in even with such stats. Not going to get my hopes up, but at least I know it isn’t 100% impossible.

Certainly gives me hope that I can get in…My essays were some of the best I’ve ever written, and I hope the adcoms agree.

Congratulations :)

Wow!!! THIS GIVES ME HOPE. I REALLY HOPE YOU’RE NOT TROLLING BECAUSE THIS REALLY GIVES ME HOPE!! Congrats :)

I am a little suspicious about the OP for a variety of reasons, including the statement “I would have saw it in there if it got sent”. I’d recommend that other applicants not rely much on the OP’s posts to assess their own chances. Good luck to everyone.

Are you recruited by any chance. I see Varsity Football captain all 4 years.
For those that are getting their hopes up, there is like less than 4% who get admitted at that stats.
[Applicant Profile : Stanford University](<a href=“Page Not Found : Stanford University”>Page Not Found : Stanford University)
Thought these are the talented, famous, athletes or some other hooked candidates.

The OP’s stated lack of hooks seems very bizarre next to other admitted and rejected candidates.

Zen, is right - guy doesn’t seem credible. Look at the list of ECs in the link; you’ll bust out laughing.

OP’s grammar is pretty terrible in his first post. I would expect more from a Stanford admit. I’m kind of suspicious of the credibility of his acceptance as well.

First of all this whole situation seems highly improbable. Second of all the OP’s stats, GPA and SAT, are both below the 25th percentile, especially his GPA. Third of all the OP lacks any EC that would make up for his academic shortfalls.

The only logical conclusion is the OP is indeed a ■■■■■.

If you look at the stats closely (took me several times to find this) you will see some clear signs of trolling, as in both young Democrats and young Republicans club, male varsity cheerleader member, “everything mattering” on the supplement essay #3, 2 on AP exams, no hooks at all, and terrible grammar for a US student who stated nothing about recently arriving from a foreign country. Plus the story seems extremely improbable.

I was in Young Democratics club my sophomore year. Then, went to Republican my junior year.

I don’t proofread what I write on the internet. You guys act like you guys are editors and everything has to be perfect.

I was a JV cheerleader, I only cheered at JV basketball games, which was how I could cheer and play basketball at the same time.

To SunDiego, I see nothing wrong with my extracurricular activities.

The only reason why I was a varsity football player since freshman year was because I had talked to my coach when I was in eighth grade and he said that I could definitely do it and it would help benefit the team. I don’t want to come across as an arrogant person, but he said that I played really well.

I knew this would happened with all the negative feedback if I posted. I am blessed to get into Stanford with a 3.4 GPA and low SAT scores, I am not trying to put anybody down. I am just happy that I got accepted even with all the troubles I had to go through with my email. And, why would I waste my time writing all this? Don’t get mad at me when you get your rejection/acceptance letters from Stanford. Nobody is asking you to believe what I have to say, but I know that I got accepted. I just wrote this to help give hopes for people.

Thanks and have a good day! :)

What do you think got you in then? I’m always interested in knowing.
