It might have to do with the fact that my $25 housing fee was just processed on Feb. 13 but it still worries me. Should I just call them and ask about it, or what?

I didn’t pay the $25 housing fee and I got the email, so… Just call. I don’t think the email was anything important since it just gave you a link to something already on the website (IIRC).

I just called and they said that if you sent in the housing fee after acceptance, you don’t get the contract until February 23.

Well, I guess they lied to you. I haven’t paid anything.

Dnerd, you didn’t do the small housing application shortly after you applied to school?

Is the email that you received the one to apply for housing and pay the $25 or the link for the housing contract that you sign and mail back along with a $200 deposit that is due by march 2?

Here is the official word from UF in regards to the housing contracts.
Incoming Admitted Summer B 2010 & Fall 2010 Freshmen
UF Campus Housing

We will have sent email offering housing contracts. Email have been sent to the
email addresses you provided when you completed your UF housing
application:
•
student email address
•
parent email address, if you provided

If you received this email, please begin your housing contract. Click here for
information and instructions.

Students that applied for housing in the last week that did not receive an email
on February 15, should look for a contract offer email on February 23 by 5pm.

If you received your contract without having applied for housing prior to this week then it was a glitch in the system that my work in your favor. The date you apply for housing and pay the $25 fee (unless waived) is considered your date stamp. That’s what they use when they start to assign housing. The earlier the better.

I got the housing contract (I reread it to make sure). No, I didn’t sign up for housing or anything since I’m not going there.

They might have waived it since I had an app fee waiver though, in which case I guess they didn’t actually lie to you.

Dnerd, then you did the small application back when you applied and the $25 was waived because your app fee was waved.
Congrats on getting accepted. Where did you decide to go?

That makes sense. My apologies for the unintentional misinformation.

Thanks! I’m going to FSU’s honors program mainly because they have my specific major (MIS) whereas UF doesn’t, and literally everyone I’ve talked to from FSU has been overly nice whereas I kinda got a different vibe from UF students when I visited. I even saw some weird poster about girls going to FSU to make their dad’s “really happy” and it had some kind of incestuous remark that didn’t really make sense. Oh and I know this sounds weird coming from a guy, but the campus is so pretty… >_>
