I was under the impression that along with the acceptance letters (which I received today in the mail) they would send out estimates for merit-based aid? I thought this was normal for EA and ED decisions, but I guess I was wrong? Do you have to apply for scholarships separately?

EDIT: I overlooked the email that was sent to me on December 1st. It explains the financial aid process. This thread can be disregarded...

KRS-One, Did you really get an EA acceptance in the mail from Villanova? I thought everyone was suppose to hear on line by the 20th? Do you have special circumstances that you would have received a letter?

DedicatedMother…waiting for email and now a letter too!

I was so happy that my daughter actually got a letter. We are travling this weekend and will have very little access to the internet. I was wondering how my daughter would find out. Hope you all hear very soon.

Agreed. I’m in central Jersey, and I just received my letter today.

No worries, I, too, only skimmed the Financial Aid email, haha. I logged onto MyNova, and there’s really nothing about Financial Aid, except for an added sidebar on the left (or I may have just missed it before) about Financial Details. Clicking around, the only info regarding Financial Aid is the paragraph below:

“After reviewing your completed Financial Aid Application materials, the Office of Financial Assistance will notify you of aid eligibility, which you may check through MyNova. In addition, all freshmen and transfer student who have submitted a complete aid application will receive a printed award letter via the U.S. mail.”

Still not much, though. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Oh, and as far as scholarships go, I think notifications are … it didn’t say, but I don’t think it’s not for a few months (at least the Presidential one).

And, of course, congratulations on your acceptance! =)
