So I just got accepted to the N.U.In program and I’m extremely confused. I know that when I submitted my application, I said I was INTERESTED in the N.U.In program, but I didn’t realize that I was applying for it.
So my questions: Does this mean I wasn’t accepted for fall admissions? Am I required to do this program or can I opt out and just start in the fall? What countries can I travel to? Is it worth it?
I just got accepted to that as well, and I was wondering the same thing. As much as I’d love to travel/study abroad, I don’t think I’d like to do it my first semester. However, I still really want to go to Northeastern. I’m likely going to contact the admissions office and ask about it to see if it can be changed.
@ag2000 It seems like you have to do the program if you want to do to northeastern. Look up the FAQ for N.U.In, they have a decent amount of helpful info, and you can see where you can study based on your major. Congrats!
Congrats to you as well for getting in! I just checked my Common App to see if I had said I would like to do NU In, because I was pretty sure I hadn’t… And I was right. Now I’m just curious about why they accepted me if I said I didn’t want to do it. Still, I’m happy to be accepted to NU at all!
@ag2000 There are a couple of old threads on CC by students who did NU IN. Several said they did not like the idea at first but afterwards they were glad they did it. Try searching CC.
@ewkb296 the first sentence of my decision letter says “I am pleased to offer you admission to The N.U.in Program, Northeastern University’s unique and innovative global first-year experience.”
If you wish to attend NEU, you must start with NUin, but I believe your acceptance is no longer binding since you did not get in for Fall in Boston. You might want to verify that, though.
