Accepted freshman - a couple of questions

Hey guys I got accepted to SCU a couple weeks ago and I think I might be joining the Bronco family in fall. I just have a few questions.

I’m going to be doing Computer Science and Engineering and I was wondering how connected to Silicon Valley the University really is apart from location. Do big companies take a lot of interns from SCU? What are job prospects like for COEN majors?

Does anyone have any idea if I get credit for GCE A-Level exams I took in HS? Website doesn’t talk about it.
Thanks!

I have a student in COEN. SCU has strong connections to SV and job prospects are really great coming out of COEN, The big and popular companies certainly hire out of SCU, but that is also more about the person interviewing than the school you go to - but SCU will get you noticed and in the door, if that is what you are asking. COEN program is very well regarded (and not easy). Just a heads up, it is way easier to find an internship after junior year than after sophomore year from any school, because you haven’t got that deep into the major as a sophomore.

My daughter just graduated from there. She has several friends from COEN (which is not easy to get into, so congrats) and they’re all working in the Valley. Now, she was in the Honors program, so the sample may be skewed a bit. But her boyfriend wasn’t- and he works at Apple.
They did land internships after their junior year and those are the places they now work for.
