To all of you who have been accepted or are still waiting, are you definitely going to SCU or will you wait to hear from other schools?
I am mainly deciding between Colorado and Santa Clara, but it is hard because they are very different yet both awesome.

I'm basically going where the money is. Santa Clara is in the middle of my list though, mainly because I'd like the weather to be a bit warmer but it is one of the best psychology/academic schools on my list so I'd still like to go there.

If you're stuck, have you tried overnight visits and such? I'd also try to research as much as you can about both schools, both positive and negative.

SCU is in the middle of my college list too.

Which school in Colorado are you comparing to SCU? The schools we toured in Colorado are HUGE compared to SCU & quite different. Son has decided he doesn't want to attend school in CO. SCU is definitely a school he's strongly considering, but curious to see what other offers he gets--this is the first reply he's gotten from any college.

yea.. i'll be going to SCU so I'll see some of you there at the orientation.. won't that be weird.

Not sure whether we'll attend the orientation in CA or just do the one in HI--depends on so many things. Glad they're having on in HI in any case.

why go to the one in HI? wouldnt u want to go to the one in CA since thats where the most people would be?

hey! i just got accepted today! Umm.. SCU is also somewhat in the middle of my list. It was a match school and i'm glad I got in. Are any of you goign to any of the oncampus admitted students days? I am.. i feel i should learn more about SCU and maybe do an overnight. I still have 9 more colleges to hear from..

i live 15 mins away from SCU i went there for summer school.. so no tour for me !

You're not in the Fremont district are you?

actually yea i am..i live 3 minutes away from Fremont High School. But I go to a private school like 10 mins away.

DD will be at the accepted student overnight on April 18.

judgedee, just curious...with all of the options available, why SCU?

well i plan on saving money cause I am a international student.. and since my sister is going there now I thought I might as well in the interest of saving money. That way since we already have a house here I might as well stay here

There's nothing particularly about the school you find appealing over other schools? There are tons of schools in CA. Must be nice to have a house there, but I'm sure your sister could rent out rooms in the house if money is an issue & you really didn't want to attend SCU.

nah I am fine with SCU. I like the small college enviroment and besides I have been living in the area for 5 years and I don't feel like moving.

Actually, I think I'm fonder of SCU than my son is (believe he's purposely staying neutral until he gets all the info about acceptances & any merit aid, which is very sensible & practical, as he always is), but we'll wait until he gets answers from all his schools before he makes any final decisions. I'm glad we were able to tour the school with a guide & got a good feeling from the place--do love the small college environment as well & think he'd do well there.

As the likelihood of my going to Stanford decreases, my desire to go to SCU increases. At this point, if I don't go to SCU, I'm either going to Maryland or Pittsburgh, which are both a lot bigger than SCU and 3000 miles closer to home.

I really really really want that letter to come in soon.

im trying to decide between santa clara honors with a schlorship and carnegie mellon....what do you think?
