Accepted Freshman (From Virginia :O)

Hey guys...I currently have a really hard decision to make on which college I to attend next year. I received my acceptance from UCLA and got a "Likely Letter" from the University of Virginia. I have lived in Virginia almost my whole life but have tons of "family friends" in California.

If anyone is on facebook...I am just wondering if I could add you as a friend and maybe ask you a few questions about UCLA.

Thanks guys..And any advice or comparisons from what you guys know about UCLA vs UVA is welcomed.

sure go ahead and add me.

how can i find your facebook...i also have facebook

HA WOWOWWWW. I'm in the EXACT same position as you, except I live in SoCal! Likely letter for UVA, honors invite for UCLA.....crazy.

I live in Northern Virginia and I am in the exact situation as the OP. I think I've come to believe that UCLA and UVA are relatively similar in academics (although UVA is slightly ahead in the rankings) and that the difference in price for me ($44,000 vs $17,000 respectively) is based largely on location: LA vs Charlottesville. Is it worth it? I love the possibility of living in LA. Another downside would be that UCLA uses the trimester system so that would not allow me to see my friends back here as often. Do you guys favor the trimester system over the semester system?

If it matters I am a biology major and I will probably go to med/dental school.

Kevin what is your facebook?

UVA in a heartbeat in my opinion.

laxattack09, any specific reasons?

are you instate uva?

Yes, I am in-state VA.

That's why ^. Plus, as a history major, I'd imagine it'd be much cooler.

Also LA isn't worth $110,000 over 4 years. Charlottesville is supposed to be an awesome college town too right? LA is far from a college town, hell even WW barely resembles one.

In-state tuition = <3

If I were you, I'd stay in VA.

But then again, I live like 30 min away from UCLA and love being able to go home whenever. Traveling all the time seems like such a hassle. But that's just MHO.
