Just do a Google search for UCF map and download the main campus map.
Google Maps does not always work well in places like college campuses, but it DOES work very well at the UCF main campus (although it may direct you to a parking garage exit, rather than the entrance).
Just keep in mind that you need to park in garages. You can drive to a lot of places on campus where there is no parking. So that’s convenient to drop folks off to avoid long walks, but then you’ll have to go to a garage and walk back to your party.
Timing:
Classes are finished for Fall 2020. This week is Finals Week, and the dorms close on Sunday, Dec 13. The dorms reopen on Jan 9 for Spring 2021.
If you visit UCF during that break period, many things will be closed but you can still walk around.
Parking enforcement is usually enthusiastic, lol, but during the break period it may be relaxed.
You can also park free on East and West Plaza Drives in the Knights Plaza area at certain times of the day (several hours mid-day, and several hours around dinner time). Otherwise, you have to pay to park there with a phone app.
Most of the parking people do there is very brief, and we’ve never had any problem getting a parking place during the free periods. That makes shopping at the bookstore or eating much more convenient – you park right in front of where you are going.
Wow such great information! Thank you. Yea it will be closer to the holidays so I figured it would be pretty closed and empty. We are from NJ so not many opportunities to visit
I don’t know when you asked this, but it just popped up on my feed.
I don’t know about open places. I’d say the best chance for bookstore (with tons of UCF gear) would be the Barnes and Noble on East Plaza Drive. That’s in Knights Plaza between the Arena and Tower III.
If they’re open, Burger U just down from B&N is a good place to eat. Jimmy Johns across the street is also good.
The other big bookstore is at JT Williams Center, which is just across the street from the Student Union, right in the center of campus. But that’s a park + long walk. No parking close.
The answer to this question is in one of the very early posts on this same thread, so go back and read those. Also, you will receive a LETTER from UCF in a few days which will explain things pretty well.
If you have any questions after reading the letter, CALL Undergraduate Admissions. They are very helpful.
I believe you will only have 30 days to make a decision for Summer admission. If you don’t decide by then, you are declined by UCF.
Summer admission is a GREAT way to start at UCF…maybe the BEST way to start.
Were you able to gather more info on tis. My daughter was just admitted and we’re lost to understand the summer offer. We can’t find any info on UCF website. We’re Canadian and she doesn’t finish HS until June 28th. Coming early with be tricky because of getting Visa, government paper work, also losing 2 months of summer job etc. Would love to hear what you learned.
I’m not sure what either of your questions are, but here’s a link that gives the entire LONG list of things you have to do after acceptance. Go to this page on UCF.edu and read the entire thing thoroughly – it’s very understandable.
On Summer Admission, it means several things, and it’s one of the very best options UCF has. Summer admission means:
You did not qualify for Fall admission. So if you decline Summer, you will not be attending UCF. Don’t get upset; it’s actually a GOOD thing.
You have 30 days to accept. If you don’t accept in 30 days, the offer expires.
The WAY you accept is to log in to MyUCF and pay the $200 enrollment deposit and start the process. It’s a deposit, so if you change your mind you will lose that $200. Most people think it’s a negligible risk considering the overall cost of college.
Summer admission means you are required to take ONLY ONE ONLINEclass during the Summer B term. Classes for Summer B start on June 28, and you will take them from the comfort of your own home – NOT at UCF.
When you enroll for Summer B, you will also enroll for Fall 2021 and your summer admission includes acceptance for Fall with successful completion of ONE ONLINE CLASS in Summer B.
If you have any additional questions, get on the phone and CALL Undergraduate Admissions and ask them. Get ACCURATE information, NOT some anonymous person on the internet’s opinion.
