Accepted SEO Interns - 2009 (housing ect)

Hi everyone,
For all those who have been accepted to the SEO Career Program- especially in Investment Banking. I am curious if everyone has started to make housing arrangements. I am finding it hard to choose which housing option will be comfortable/appropriate.

EHS? or NYU Housing? these 2 seem to be popular. Some of the housing on the list provided by SEO have a curfew:)lol..
Is there people who find different housing than that listed in the acceptance/enrollment letter? Can everyone please share any information that will be useful in finding better housing?

Heyy-- I’m going to be interning with SEO’s Corp Finance program this summer. I actually already applied for NYU housing and already got assigned to Carlyle Court right near Union Square Park. I heard it’s pretty nice, even though I probably won’t be there much this summer. NYU housing seems to be the most popular, but i’m sure if you look around the forums you’ll be able to find some other opinions. What program are you interning with? And where do you go to school? Have you heard of anyone else getting an offer with SEO? Because it seems to be pretty quiet…

I don’t know anyone else. It is so quite this year. Also in Investment banking - Corporate Finance program. Do you know when they are going to start firm placement?

I finally read the previous posts on SEO. So far I see only 2 other people with offers. Anyone else?

Anyone who did SEO program - IB-Corporate Finance last year? Which Bank? May be you can tell us about your experience? Did you get full time offers?

-
So far accepted SEO interns

I’m in for the research program, have you guys heard anything about the online training yet??

Congrats guys. I guess the downturn really effected SEO this year huh? March 15th is the final nail in the coffin date I think…

Yah, not many people on this discussion board have talked about being accepted. I think the last possible day to hear by is March 22nd

I haven’t heard anything on training. I am sure we will start to hear soon. It is extremely quite over here. Probably this year, they accept more candidates in other areas and less in IB.
Quite frankly, I thought may be its too late for me, because I applied in January (third round)

HopefullyHaas, Hang in there! There is still time. You might still get the happy call  Yes, the the last notification date is March 22.

i’m accepted too  for information technology!

congratulations! ibelieve
Great to see more acceptances

I am so totally hating right now!!
Congrats guys!!!

Anyone heard anything else? I spoke to one of the program managers, and it was mentioned that they are discussing firm placements. CD for training are usually received within 2/3 weeks after you accept enrollment.

Good luck everyone!!

do the firms ever pay for housing? i know when you get in directly, most give stipends for housing…does this not apply for seo?

it seems that last year, some of the SEO interns received housing stipend. I think it depends on the firm. There were those who got anywhere from $2,000 to $5,000.

What about air ticket? I heard that some of the firm do provide air ticket, in addition to the housing stipend?

Accepted IT program.

Someone mentioned NYU housing, but the earliest arrival date is May 24th, which is after the date of training. You’re just going to stay in hotels prior to that date?

haha i got officially rejected today after being waitlisted from round 1 corp fin

what a ridiculous process. on my own i was able to multiple top bb and elite boutique offers, and interviews at literally every bank and one of the pe megafunds.

how few slots did they even have corp fin this year?

I just got notification about training! The deadline for the first set of courses is 4/16…
anyone else hear anything?

congratulations Jomaboo!

I think one week of hotel can be very expensive. unless you get some cheap motel somewhere:)lol
I still have not made any accomodation arrangements. EHS mentioned that you can negotiate the start/end dates. May be I will try that.

-
Skyhigh,
I also just received my training instructions via email. My first zoologic courses has to be completed by April 16. I guess no CD needed anymore.

yep just got information about what training courses to take…seems like it will take a while!

what colleges are everyone from?
