Hey everyone I got accepted to KU and I have a few questions if anyone can or wants to answer. Just a little bit about me I will most likely be attending KU the 2015 fall semester, I love to be social and party but academics obviously come first, I play football, basketball, and lacrosse. I also really want to join greek life.

What are the people like at KU and how diverse is it?

What would be the best dorm for me?

How is the greek life at KU is it very selective?

What are any other things that have made KU the best college ever?

Congratulations on your acceptance to KU! My daughter is a current freshman so I will try to answer some of your questions to the best of my ability. As far as diversity, KU just announced their most diverse incoming class ever, approximately 23%. It may not feel as diverse as some campuses but it has improved. Greek Life has become much more selective, particularly the sororities. A strong GPA and some leadership activities, or legacy connections, would really help. As far as dorms, it really depends upon your preference since the residence halls are in 2 clusters on opposite sides of the campus. The majority of students live on Daisy Hill. They are in the process of building 2 brand new dorms there that are supposed to be ready for next fall. The school pride at KU is off the chart, I have never seen anything like it. They love their school. The kids generally seem happy but there is a bit of a divide between the Greek and non-Greek students. If you have not been to campus yet, I would highly recommend a visit. Good luck!
