Today I got rejected by WUSTL, so disappointed! Now I am really worried about Penn decision coming up. Did any one get rejected by WUSTL but still accepted to Penn?

I feel the same exact way about Penn after being waitlisted at Washu. But then again we just have to remember that apps are going exponentially up it seems like every year. It’s all part of the college admissions game I guess…

I know a junior here who chose between Chicago and Penn but was rejected at Wash U.

That is nervous making

What are your safeties?

My safeties are Loyola University Chicago and St John uni in NY

My D got into Penn State Schreyer Honor college yesterday and waitlisted to WUSTL today. Wondering the same about the Ivies…does this mean no chance?

No, WashU is notorious for wait listing large amounts of qualified students. Don’t freak out.

I don’t know about Penn, but I know of a phenomenal student who was wait listed at WashU, but accepted into MIT. Needless to say, he matriculated to the latter.

I got waitlisted from WashU too and I’m kind of freaking out about it. I’m still waiting to hear from more schools, but I got into MIT early action so it seems kind of strange. Anyone else in the same situation? I thought i was pretty qualified to get in but I guess not…

I thought i could be waitlisted, but it rejected me. But honestly, I’m more worried than disappointed because it is the first school I heard from. Totally hopeless in Harvard now :))), a little hope in Penn :d

I got accepted to WUSTL today and have applied to Penn RD as well and did not receive a likely letter. Trust me an acceptance at WUSTL does not ease the anxiety for the Penn decision especially without a likely letter.

^^ I agree. It still is extremely nerve-wracking and stressful!

Don’t worry! Waitlisted at WUSTL but received a likely letter from Penn and Dartmouth!

^There you have it, it’s possible.

Whether or not you choose to buy into the conspiracy theories about WashU wait listing (over)qualified applicants, we can all agree that each school is looking for something different.

One decision is not necessarily an indication of future decisions, believe it!

Yea, I was also waitlisted at WUSTL but likely-lettered to UPenn; each school looks for different things! There isn’t too much correlation; I was outright rejected from Caltech EA, not even deferred.

Oh my gosh! I got deferred by Penn ED and rejected by WashU. Now I am freaking out over Penn accepting me March 30!
