After applying on a whim, and being accepted, i've realised that i probably wont be able to afford to study there for four years (international, obviously out-of-state student).
Anyone else in this situation? Is there any way i can become an american citizen and california resident in a little over a year, deferring my admission? Or can i defer my admission until junior or senior year as a transfer? And is it too late to ask for any kind of financial help?
Thanks!

Absent some private scholarships you’re out of luck. It’s way too late to be focusing on financial aid.

Have you considered marrying an American for citizenship

That still won’t allow the OP to qualify for California tuition under the UC guidelines…

what about deferring it for 2 years? Is that even possible?

You have to have a really good excuse if you want to defer it (Going to the army is a good one).

UCLA rarely grants enrollment deferment. You basically have to be called into active military duty for the school to even consider it.
