haha i'm in a very competitive school district. out of the four public schools in my city, mine is considered the "dumb" school. my friends and i are waiting to hear from some other people about scholarships after semester break is over, so hopefully that number will increase.

how do you get to the rsvp page?

I don't know if the RSVP page is up yet this year.... I remember we got on the RSVP page last year, but when some people couldn't get in, they phoned the admission office and the office got a bit irritated, so they might have changed the process a bit. Anyway, if you don't figure out the page address, you can always wait for the actual scholarship letter, it'll come soon :)

Oh, and guys, several people got scholarship interview letters from my school last year... maybe 10? Most of us ended up getting the scholarships we interviewed for, but some people ended up getting bumped down and some ended up not getting a scholarship at all. Then again, I've even heard of presidential people being bumped up to trustee after their interviews. So remember guys, try not to be too freaked out during your interview (being clammed up can't be good for your conversational skills), and do well on your interviews! ;)

bluebeard- how did you get to the rsvp page? we promise not to call admissions !

the link is in this forum i think. that's where i got it from. if it's not in this thread, then it's in another. the rsvp page has basically nothing on it, by the way.

thanks misoobishi. i already had an interview and it went extremeley well, so i'm hoping that i'll repeat my earlier performance. how was the whole experience of the interview process? don't you have to stay for two days? what'd you do besides the interview?

Has anyone heard from the film school yet? Some of my friends got in, but all of them applied to the business school. No one else at my school, that I know of anyways, applied to the film school. So if anyone has heard let me know please :]

im still kinda confused, will they still be sending admission stuff this week like on monday or tuesday?

it seems like most people from engineering got theirs

yeah they will be sending out more scholarship acceptances over the next few days from what i understand.

Wow, congratulations. If you go there and find any fellow students are following in Annabel Chong's footsteps, let me know so I can come visit.

Annabel Chong? I don't get it. Where do her footsteps lead?

Yeah, Explore USC is for 2 days. There's a lot of "Welcome to the Trojan Family" speeches that make you really warm and fuzzy inside. You get to talk to a panel of USC students about scholarships, school life, anything you want.

And of course there's an interview. The interview process was a bit freaky at first, I'll admit. For my interview, I had one history professor (I'm a history major on a pre-med track), one student, and one admissions officer. They were all extremely friendly, and asked me questions about my extracurriculars, my essays, my career plans, some aspects of the Quick Takes, etc. Oh, and I guess this is a coincidence but the professor that interviewed me is now my 19th century U.S. history professor and the student who interviewed me is in the same community service organization as I am, and she remembered me months after my interview :) If you did well on your first interview, I'm sure you'll do well on your Explore USC one.

did they place any sort of importance on midyear reports in the interview process? i got all As first semester so i'm hoping that will help push me up to trustee if i got presidential.

the rsvp log-in doesn't mean acceptance, right?

congrats to all who got in!!
i hope i get in too in a bout a few weeks or so...
i don't need scholarships just want to get in ><

The midyear reports... hmm I think they're just glossed over. I'm sure straight-A's will help, but from what I understand, interviews and essays are key in the scholarship process. If you do happen to get presidential and want to get trustee, just be sure you do a kickass interview :)

gasp! we can say kickass? that's kickass!

Accepted (Viterbi, Computer Science) - International

I'm sure we will do a long interview thread elsewhere, with plenty of advice, so it is easy to find. I interviewed last year, so I have some ideas of how it works from the other end!

where are you from sid_galt?

waiting, waiting, waiting ..... :)

Whyyyy do I have to live so far away from California ;).
