I recently got accepted to the U of M, and I am soooooo ecstatic!! I'm coming from out of state...little scared lol. Well, feel free to post! :)

Congrats mikeys!! I’m glad to see you decided to give the Twin Cities and U of Minn a chance. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in either. Do make sure to pick up some good cold weather gear though. Minnesota in January is gonna be quite a change from Orlando!! Good luck!!

Thanks! =)

I know haha. last time I went to Minnesota was my first time seeing snow. I showed up to the airport with sandals on. You should have seen the reactions…

BUT

do you think I’d be at a disadvantage for starting in the middle of the school year and not knowing ANYONE?

Pros vs Cons?

I’m a high school student who is currently attending the U. I started last week without knowing a single person, but now I have friends in my lectures/discussions because I made an effort to do so. Just make sure to put an effort to introduce yourself and what not. Don’t expect people to start talking to you unless your a magnet that everyone wants to be around haha.

In conclusion, the people are great! They are nice and it will be easy to make friends regardless of when you start in the Fall or Spring.

Good Luck!!

Hey Mikey! I’m also a transfer but I started this semester! I can confidentally say that it’s the best thing I’ve done in a long time! As a transfer student, however, it’s a LOT harder to make friends at the U of M than I envisioned it being :-/ But it’s been a pretty legit experience nonetheless!! If you have any questions or what not, don’t hesitate to PM me! I’m originally from Minneapolis so I like to think I know a lot ;)

Hi all!
I’m not exactly a transfer student…but i’m going to stay in UofM for spring 2012 semester and being an international/overseas exchange student i’m in a similar situation
I’ve the italian bachelor’s degree in psychology and i’m going to take some undergraduate courses (as an exchange student i can’t take graduate courses :S) in your new university!
Aaaaand…i’m just thinking that knowing new people before of getting there can only be a good thing
So: hi, nice to meet you all, i’m Federico! :D

ha! I meet u again! I also checked my status one hour ago ,it displayed I have been enrolled.but now I could not login my applicant account. oh… i hope everything is ok… is it possible that the school update a wrong decision? i hope not…

when had you applied?
