Texaspg, that is true, but with a potential gain of $100,000 in scholarship money, it was worth it to us!

thank you nc mom. Great to see someone who can confirm it happened to them.

Texaspg, sorry for the confusion, it didn’t happen for us, but it was worth spending the money to go out for the interview to try for it! It did happen to others we had met though!

No, the basic reason, the main reason, and the essential reason is to make an informed decision about where you will spend the next four years of your life.

Hey guys,
I live in Georgia so any letter that would have been sent out wouldn’t quite be here yet. However, I went on the USCConnect website today and it was giving me the option to put my enrollment deposit down. For those of you who got in, is this on your USCConnect page as well? I’m literally freaking out over here and would love to know if this means I got in!

Olivia,
Greetings from Cobb County. Did the tab have anything about EXPLORE? Check out some of the other posts from admitted students. You might learn more about how they found out through Connect.

The wonderful admission packet is large and contains an elegant folder and admission information. It is sent through USPS priority mail.

Good luck.
Georgia Girl

Yes, Olivia, to answer your question: you are IN! Congrats. But Georgia Girl is right - to find out more information about whether you are invited to interview for scholarships, please see the other threads!

I’m from Cobb County! Walton High school student. There was nothing about EXPLORE, but I was given the option to attend Admitted Student events, as well as place my commitment deposit. When I checked the financial aid section it said that my award was not yet determined. So I’m not sure but as of right now I’m feeling excited!

Olivia,
I am in that district near East Cobb Park! Welcome! Walton often sends students to SC. It is an outstanding high school.

Did you attend the admissions/information event in early November in Buckhead?

Have you sent in all the forms for financial aid? They are due on FEB. 2nd. Check out alamemom’s long thread for help on this.
Please PM me if you have questions. Also, there is a USC Alumni Club of Atlanta. They give a few partial scholarships. Check out the USC alumni portal on the SC website for contact information.

If you enroll the club has a great SCendoff Party for new Trojans before students leave for Los Angeles.

Congratulations!

Olivia,
On the Events page click the RSVP for admitted students, then click through the next box (name and phone) and it will show you what you can RSVP for. That is where I found the Explore reservation. Click that and you will see what dates show for you - may bring a surprise if March dates show up! Although - I recall a box popped up somewhere before this that said “Congratulations on your interview offer for Presidential Scholar” or something similar.

Mine gave me the option to interview for the Presidential Scholarship, so I’m assuming I’m in and that is what I’ve received. However, I still haven’t gotten my letter and it’s making me nervous!

We are on the East Coast too, and DS’s letter took a long time to arrive last year as well. Don’t worry!

Did anyone get invited for the Mork scholarship?
