Has anyone got an acceptance that didn't apply to the honors program yet?

My son didn't apply to Honors, even though they offered him the second chance last month. He just had a complete writer's block on that essay!!!

Accepted by mail this afternoon. Honors and merit award. I didn't originally apply to honors, I did the second chance offer in February.

My son got his acceptance yesterday (3/14) with a small merit award but no mention of Honors, though he did apply. We're wondering if that means he didn't get it. Sadly, I'm thinking that's the case. Does anyone have any info about that?

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to give a huge shout out to everyone who is strongly considering the University of Delaware. It is such a great place. I graduated from UD in 2003 and try to get back when I can to see the professors that I am still friends with.

Delaware is the perfect combination between students who are smart and hard working - and yet still can let loose and have a good time! I have the fondest memories of Delaware and hope that everyone, if they get admitted, considers spending four years there.

Best wishes.

when do we find out about results from the scholars weekend?

I have no idea. I really want to know.

i thought we were supposed to hear sometime this week. sigh

Jerseyco05, were you invited to the 100 Scholars competition? Still trying to figure out why some people have heard about Honors and other haven't. Thanks

Everyone who was invited to the competition got an early acceptance letter which told us that we got accepted into the honors college.

anyone find out yet about the scholars comp?

Nope......

No, I wasn't invited to any scholars competition. I just applied by the regular date, and then was notified in February suggesting that my stats were strong and that I should apply to honors. I decided to apply and sent in the additional essay. I heard back around a week ago.

i heard a couple days ago, though i didn't get the dupont. i got the stark scholarship.

I received my acceptance letter a week or so ago. I hadn't applied to the Honors college because UDel is my last choice school. Still, it's a great feeling to be accepted. Congratulations to everyone else who's heard good news!

anyone get in for the visual art program (BFA) or know about it?

Anyone end up getting the DuPont scholarship? Congratulations if you did. hard to pass up.

Jamminijb5: I was poking around the UDel thread and saw that you were a DuPont Scholars candidate. How did that work out for you? You got good news form W & M too. What's your strategy to get such good results? With your interest in W&M, did you also apply to UVA? What's your first choice?

Unfortunately, I did not get the DuPont. I thought my interview went well, but who knows. Yes, I also applied to UVA and got a likely letter. All of this good news amazes me because I thought that I would be rejected from William and Mary and UVA. I will gladly tell you about my situation though. I live in a biracial family and wrote a very good essay about how others may see me as different, but that my family is perfectly normal to me. That probably helped me to stand out because my counselor told me that many colleges emailed him and told him that they loved my writing and that I have a great worldview. I do not have outstanding extracurriculars or test scores. I only tried to spend my time doing 4 or 5 activities that I really love. I also have taken all honors and AP classes. Due to financial concerns, I base my top choices on whether or not I can get any money. I do not qualify for need-based so I really need the merit aid. This may come as a surprise, but the University of Richmond is my top choice. I just came back from a competition there, and I think I have a great chance of receiving an award worth 2/3 of the tuition. I guess my only advice is to spend a lot of time on the essays. Haha it's awesome that someone is interested in all of this. Bluejay, I will say more if you or anyone else is interested.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. Good luck with the final results. Can't go wrong with ANY of them! Keep us posted.
