Accepted!

What state are you in. We are in nj and haven't heard yet.

Congratulations to Plainsman and Plainsgirl! M. meets the calculated need of something like 90% of their students, which is impressive for a school that doesn't have a huge endowment. With the chance of merit aid or preferential packaging, there are several routes to the funds that your family needs. Hope they come through!

BTW, Muhlenberg is one of the only schools that not only admits that they use preferential packaging of financial aid (nearly every college does, even the need-blind, no-loan, and full-need-met schools), but also explains it so that students and parents can know how the game works. This should be required reading for any student or parent applying for financial aid:

The Real Deal on Financial Aid

I put in the student ID and DOB but I can't get on. Anybody having the same problem?

soozi1, we live in Pennsylvania, in the Lehigh Valley, only about 8 miles or so from the Muhlenberg campus. That is probably why we heard so quickly. The letters were likely mailed on Monday and our's came the very next day because we're so close. Everyone in NJ, NY and distant parts of PA will probably get their letters tomorrow. Watch for the mail delivery!

There should be a lot more acceptances posted on this board by tomorrow night. :)

Plainsman -- Congratulation to you and your daughter. My wife and I have been helping a local student who would be the first in her family to attend college with the admissions process and she has Muhlenberg at the top of her list. Hopefully she'll hear later today. I think her chances of admission are very good, but like you we are concerned about the financial viability of Muhlenberg, as she has a gap of more than $30,000 to close.

D got her acceptance letter today. Like many of you, i won't open it, but love that it says "You're In" right on the (business-size) envelope.

congrats to everyone here; notan4me, it must be difficult as all get out to have to keep this information to yourself until your D comes home!

teriwtt, this one isn't too difficult, especially since it says right on the envelope "You're In!"

D was invited to apply for Dana associate, and there was a P.S. in the letter, essentially saying that "while acceptances have not yet gone out, you can take this as a good sign."

Now we are anxiously awaiting the fin aid offer. D's first choice is the school that costs her (us) the least.

D got the "You're In" here in Western NY today, she has musical dress rehearsal today so it won't be opened until late tonight...congrats to all who got in!!!

My D received her "You're In" letter today (we are in New Jersey). She has heard from all of her other schools and has been waiting so long for this one. Muhlenberg has always been her first choice, but money will play a BIG part in her/our decision.
She has already been disappointed in the fin aid package she received from another top choice school. Happily, though, she has been accepted into TCNJ, which is much more financially possible!

I'm in too :) Long Island.

To those who received their acceptance letters... is your acceptance status also showing on the capstone site? Good Luck to all!

Got our letter today! KT was thrilled!!!!!!! Congrats to all, for those of you still waiting-I'll keep the fingers and toes crossed XXXX. ;)

PS- we're in NJ

We don't have a student ID, so can't even try!

If anyone knows what the ID is on, please PM me. thanks!

Now I'm worried...I live in Central New Jersey...letter didn't come today...bad sign?

Don't worry... I called they told me they are sending them in waves and I live in North Jersey.

I checked my application status on capstone and it just says: The application is complete. So you cant find out that way...gosh, it will take forever for the letter to get here. (I live in Germany) Does anybody know if they're sending out emails to international students?

nothing here in NYC either.

notan4me - I should have clarified... the difficult part is you know, but I'm assuming your D is at school today, so you have to keep the good news to yourself until she comes home. I'd be sitting on my hands to keep from calling people to tell them the good news. But it would be my D's right to know first, before I let the cat out of the bag. That's just me.

You are right, though. The Dana application pretty much told it all. My D received it, too, but did not fill it out. Thankfully, we found out later there was another honor's program that did not require an additional application, and my D was admitted into it, with substantial money.

When will applicants hear about merit aid?
