njt18: If it's RH I'd think it would be pretty easy, but if it's LC you might want to call asap, since their is limited dorm availability.

Hurley i've gotten my acceptance from CBA. I live in Asia, Singapore.

I got my acceptance from LC today too! I live in Malaysia. Funny though, a USanFran envelope posted on the 20th arrived 2 days earlier than the Fordham one which was posted on the 17th.

Actually, switching to resident from commuter is not easy the first semester of freshman year. The previous few years they have had more kids accept their offer of admission than they anticipated, resulting in nobody getting in off the waitlist for resident student and only a few getting in off the waitlist as commuters, and the dorms being tripled up. They are building a new dormitory at RH, but I dont know the completion date and when it will be open for occupancy. Chances are, getting in as a commuter is where you will stay. However, if you call immediately to residence life and explain your situation nicely perhaps they will work with you. Some kids drop out first semester of freshman year due to poor grades (partying and immaturity problems) and make room in the dorms for spring semester and maybe you can live on campus then.

Fordham had over 24,100 applications this year which is like the 7th record application year in a row. Admission is becoming highly selective. Their retention rates are rising as well, as are the admission scores. With superb faculty, wonderful programs, a fabulous campus atmosphere, lots of fun and being in New York, its a very popular school right now.

accepted to LC! from cleveland OH

is anyone else doing the 3-2 program with Columbia?

i'm hoping to do the 3-2 program. any idea how many people do it?

nooo idea, the website is very vague and i really want to know some more about it

do you think it's considered really hard to do?

don't know. it says you just have to keep a 3.0. i've heard that's harder to do in college.

when i visited i talked to the physics professor and he seemed really excited i was interested. got the gist that there are not many students (and probably fewer girls).

are you thinking physics or chem?

My d got her acceptance package yesterday with a separate letter that said she was awarded a Dean's Scholarship. The amount is a minimum of $10,000/year but can be up to $22,000/year. Don't know the exact amount being offered yet and don't know when we will know.

Doonvarn:

You are in at FCRH and they gave you a boatload of money. I strongly encourage you to go online or grab a hardcopy of the recent bulletin from Fordham and check out the faculty credentials and the programs, particularly the interdisciplinary programs and honors programs at Fordham RH. They are all stellar. Everyone muddles through the core curriculum, though some of those courses are fabulous as well, and many of them are a lot tougher than you can imagine! But once you reach upperclassman level, the course work gets outstanding and you can meet some incredible faculty who will open doors for you if you have performed well (grades). Trust me, on this.

Congratulations.

Sharks teeth, if you have applied for financial aid, then you should have heard with the same acceptance letter. If you did apply and didnt hear anything about financial aid, then call them monday and find out what is going on. If you did not apply for financial aid and are waiting on scholarship, generally they also let you know at the same time as your acceptance, but there are some late scholarships that can come in. If you didnt apply for financial aid and need it, then do so immediately.
