Yay just got accepted today! It was my first acceptance, so I am very excited! Good motivation to keep going on my other apps!

Anyone else struggling with the OOS costs of attendance? It seems there quite a few of us from California; are you all seriously fine with the $34,000 per year?

My daughter got her acceptance the beginning of Dec and sent her housing app in right away. She has a 3.9 gpa, 2050 sats and 31 act. We are in Washington.

We’re definitly not Ok with the $34k…she will need lots of aid. She will be crushed if it doesn’t work out as it is the only place she really wants to go. She has applied in state as a financial back up.

The wait is going to be very stressful!! Good luck to everyone :)

I am ok with the tuition, because I will not send my son to a (California) state school, so anyplace he goes will cost more than instate tuition. $34,000 is not unreasonable for an OOS student, IMO. However, we are not applying for financial aid, so we don’t have that added stress…I know how difficult that process is!

****. i got rejected.

this is awful.

I’m sorry, Duckss. :(

That’s bad news. Well, remember nearly all students end up very happy wherever they enroll, and often feel like things really did work out for the best for them.

I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful and productive experience at the college you end up attending!

Is it a positive or negative thing that my son was “referred for comprehensive review”? He doesn’t qualify for automatic admission.

That’s standard for everyone who doesn’t meet the auto admissions requirements.

My Stats(in case anyone wanted to know)
ACT- 24
SAT-1560

GPA: 3.71
Rank: 80/561 top 15%

My status says “Deferred to March File Review”, does that mean I just diddn’t meet the automatic admission requirements?

It sounds like they’ll review your file in March. It probably means you were not an automatic admit, and until they see how many auto-admits there ends up being, they can’t really set an admissions target in terms of how many non-auto admits they can accept.

That would be my guess, anyway.

hi guys can someone answer my question please. umm when do i send in transcripts and i can sat scores through collegeboard?

You need to get transcripts and SAT scores to Oregon ASAP. I’m assuming you got your application in since the deadline has already passed. They can’t evaluate your application until you get all the other materials to them too. SAT scores must be sent directly from College Board.

Yeah, the deadline is quite past. It’s possible they’ll accept your transcript and scores late as long as the application was in on time. You could call and ask the admissions office, or you could just fire those things off ASAP and hope for the best.

My daughter doesn’t qualify for automatic admission and she got her acceptance letter yesterday. 3.175 gpa at end of junior year, SAT scores 630 reading/530 math/570 writing. Two AP courses (both during her senior year), very involved in her high school choir program, and has held a part time after school job since her junior year.

Hi, i sent my application on january 11, but i sent my transcripts and sat scores around february 10, do u think im too late for admission. im kinda worried

You’d have to ask UO directly. On their website (Apply Now page) they have online “live-chat” via a text window that you can use to talk to an admissions counselor–it’s a bright green button called QUACK!

From what I’ve gathered, though, I get the sense that UO is vaguely unofficially rolling with its admissions in that they will accept applications until they have filled all their spots. Obviously it is to your advantage to apply on time or early even in that scenario.

Best of luck!

ok thanks for the reply it means alot

eabeeb: Congratulations to your daughter! That’s great news, and it’s nice to see the admissions start rolling in for the people who weren’t part of the auto admit pool.

tinytank: UO does have some flexibility with their deadlines, but as always the sooner you have everything in the better. If you are a strong candidate you shouldn’t have a problem with the deadline, but if you are on the borderline it could make a difference. As evidenced by eabeeb’s news, slots are starting to get filled.

ok thanks tulare i have a 4.07 cum gpa for 10th and 11th grade, but my sat is only a 1530 so i hope they will consider me. thanks again for reply
