I was put onto the waitlist for Santa Cruz, but because I don’t find out if I was accepted or not until mid-May, I am planning on accepting my admission into Cal Poly Pomona. Does anyone know if there are any repercussions for accepting admission off of a waitlist after already accepting admissions at a different school (besides losing the non-refundable $100 Enrollment Confirmation Deposit)?
You need to accept a school by the May 1 deadline, in this case CPP. Most wailtlist decisions will made after the May 1 enroll date. You will lose your enrollment deposit, if you are accepted at UCSC and accept their offer. All schools know that waitlisted applicants will enroll in another school until decisions are made. No repercussions.
@Gumbymom I am in a similar situation. I have been waitlisted at Earlham while accepted at Truman. So, I can accept admissions at Truman and wait for decisions from Earlham? If I am accepted at Earlham then what do I say to Truman?
Just tell them that you were accepted off the waitlist at another school. It happens all the time.
