Accepting AES/Clark Summer Research Program

If you accept your AES, are you saying to UTD that you want to go there? Or can you accept your scholarship and still wait to decide if you’re going to attend? Sorry, it’s just confusing.

Also, has anyone every don the Clark Summer Program? My son got an email about this, saying AES students were eligible to apply. I assume it’s super competitive? If he went to UTD it would be as an ATEC major.

Thanks.

Did anyone else receive the email about Clark Summer Program?

@sbjdorlo I had the same question…

@sbjdorlo I received the email about the program, and I applied.
I don’t think that accepting the AES award says you want to go there, because it is possible to accept the AES before you officially accept the offer of admission on Galaxy.

Also, admissions notifications for the Clark summer research program come out early-mid May, so if your decision to attend rests on the outcome of the program, it will be too late.

@4everEpical, so you accepted your AES in your portal, applied for the Clark, but haven’t committed to attending UTD, is that correct?

I accepted AES and applied to the program about 2 weeks prior to committing to attend utd

Oh, so you are committing to attend? I didn’t know that. Congratulations!! I wish the scholarship had been bigger for my son. As it stands now, UTD is not affordable without significant loans.

Thanks! I would be getting their National Merit scholarship, which is full tuition + 8000/yr + 1000/yr from the corporate scholarship.

Wow, that’s fabulous! It’s a great school and essentially for free. Congratulations and well done!
