Has anyone here already gone through the process of accepting at www.dlenote.ed.gov ?

I'm having trouble with stuff like MY permanent address (that of where I live right now, with my parents, or that of where I will be living, my dorm?), selecting a second reference (who are you supposed to pick/of what relation to me should that person be??), am I in trouble if I don't have a driver's license yet, and minor details like that.

Are we even supposed to be completing this process now, or is it normally done later, like maybe after the bursar bill comes or maybe after school starts?

Answers would be really appreciated...

i did it a couple weeks ago. for permanent address, use your home address not your dorm. i used my employer as a second reference, but you can use anyone, friend, family, relative, teacher as long as its a different address. maybe its time you applied for a drivers license. i am not too sure about that one.

you should do it asap. you def want to do it before school starts so you can get your loan to pay for your college bills.

Thank you, that was very helpful. This Sunday I'm applying for a road test, which I hope will be scheduled for before I leave for college...

actually, you can go get just a id with a # without actually having a drivers license.

then when you do pass, they mail you a new ID (same number) but it says that you are legal to drive.

I didn't know that, where do I actually get one? (When I apply online for a road test?)

in California, you go to the dmv to apply for a id or drivers licenses. when you take your written portion of your drive test, they should have given you a permit with a id number.
