I know there are several facilities in several dorms, such as, swimming pools, gyms, and showers. Can a NYU student that does not live in the dorms (aka Commuter Student) have access to those facilities?

There are two gyms: Coles and Palladium. Coles is free-standing and is located on Mercer between Bleecker and Houston, which is about two blocks south and one block east of WSP. Palladium is located inside the Palladium Residence Hall on 14th Street and 3rd Avenue; it is located underground. Both have swimming pools and showers. Any student who is registered for classes for the term and has activated the ID may use either gym.

As for small gyms located inside other residence halls (like inside Water Street), only residents of those dorms and anyone they sign into the dorm can use them.

^yep that’s right. It doesn’t matter what year you are or what building you live in they are freely accesible to all students. I think even grad students can use them.
