I entered the PIN number I received in the letter a long time ago but it says it's an invalid last name or PIN. Has anyone been able to access the admitted students site? Am I just freaking out over nothing (I'm terrified they sent an admit letter to the wrong person, so I'm paranoid over all this)? Thanks guys! And happy holidays!!!

So you got in but your PIN doesn't work?

I haven't received my letter yet; I tried my PIN and it didn't work.

Yeah, I got the admit letter, but my it says 'that user doesn't exist.' Have they just not uploaded all the data up there yet? Ahahah I feel so neurotic and needlessly paranoid.

First of all, congrats.

Secondly, you've given me some relief, as I thought I was for sure rejected b/c I couldn't access my account either. Though I haven't yet received my letter, I thought I could check my status by attempting to log in. At least I didn't find out the anti-climatic way; if I'm to be rejected, I can do it the proper way!

I'm sure your letter didn't get sent to you by mistake.

There's no necessary reason why they should set up the admitted students accounts at the same time as e-mails come out. Besides, they probably weren't in a rush to do them since last year students could log-in a couple hours before e-mails came.

And plus, the numbers themselves could be different. One is your PIN #, and one is your Admitted Student ID or something, right? Maybe they just assign you a new number soon.

Hey guys,

I called the admissions office this morning, and the representative said they don't put the site up until Friday. It looks like there's nothing to worry about after all. :) Good luck to those still waiting for an email!

AKA me =). I must've fallen into that miniscule 2% whose emails are lost.

haha same as me, i panicked when i couldnt access the admitted page (how crazy is it to go from prospective to admitted) and i was like i knew it! they sent it to the wrong person!
still hasnt really sunk in.

You wouldn't believe how relieved this thread makes me. When I received my email (finally--after two and a half hours of anxiously pressing the Get Mail button on Thunderbird) I absolutely FREAKED OUT. Ran around the house, screamed, and called everyone I knew. Then I tried to log into the Admitted Students webpage and couldn't log in for the life of me. I tried to request my PIN, and my request came back denied. Almost cried... I remember all too well the story of that one school a few years ago that sent emails to the wrong people. But then I sent the request again without my middle name and they found me in the database. Still can't log into the site but I called Harvard Admissions as soon as I got home from school today. After congratulating me on getting in, they said that the site won't be up until at least tomorrow.

I feel exactly like whenicomearound: "still hasnt really sunk in." But at least I know that I wasn't the only one who panicked... and we're all in! Good luck to the RD'ers.

Oh wow, I can't wait to meet everybody!

Ahaha that story about Cornell and the incorrect letters a few years ago was what was running through my mind, too! I think they'll be dealing with panicked kids for years to come at every ivy school over that particular incident. Congratulations whenicomearound and igrok! The admitted page is up and running for me as of this morning and it's the same PIN as in the letter we got months ago. Good luck to you nbachris-let us knowwhen you find out!
