Hi all,
I am freaking out because I sent all my scores my mistake. The college board was glutting because the rush payment was not popping up, since I clicked back and then I didn’t look but then it went to all scores. loNG STORY SHORT, I sent al my scores by mistake. I did not want to send my October score I did terrible because I was really sick, like I literally had a fever and my score went down 170 points!!! Terrible.
I tried calling college board but they said they couldn’t cancel the score report?? So, I sent another score report only including the ones I wanted, I realize this was probably a waste of $79.
Can I call the college and them to only consider the second report?? Please help, I have been in tears and FREAKING OUT and my parents are so furious with me for not checking.
@intparent and @happy1 Are you sure of this. I made the same mistake and accidentally submitted a 680 on my sat ii to Harvard. The other two sat ii scores are 720 and 780, so I was just intending to send them. Will this hurt my chances?
None of use works in Harvard admissions so none of us can give you any sort of a “guarantee”. But one can logically assume that if a college allows score choice then they will look at the best SAT.
It is done. There is nothing you can do about it. So the time an energy you spend worrying about it is a complete waste. Find something more constructive to do.
Keep in mind that the admission rate for Harvard is about 5% so it is a long shot for everyone. All you can do is give it your best shot and see what happens. And it sounds like you have done that.
I’m pretty sure that most schools use some type of data management software to review applications. Like this: https://technolutions.com/. So a clerical person is in charge of inputting the score reports into the program, and if the school superscores then the highest scores are the ones inputted. It’s not like the admissions officer sits there with paper copies of your score reports. In other words, OP should relax.
In the first place, don’t hijack someone else’s thread - it’s rude. In the second place, for both you and the OP, Harvard says they consider the best scores, so that’s good enough for me. Believe them or don’t believe them. I will also say that at Harvard (and I would assume similar schools), little elves in the basement (well, work/study students) assemble a cover sheet which lists only the top 2 scores; the other scores will appear further inside the package if the AO decides to dig for them. Good luck.
